Diptyque was born in Paris in 1961 at the hands of three artists, Desmond Knox-Leet, Christiane Montadre-Gautrot and Yves Coueslant, united by a shared passion for nature, travel and the graphic arts. What began as an unclassifiable shop at 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain gradually became one of the most influential perfume houses in contemporary luxury. Its singularity lies in a creative approach where fragrance, illustration and design are always built together, giving rise to a sensory language of its own that transcends trends.

The Diptyque candles and fragrances collection encompasses scented candles in a range of formats and fragrances, eaux de toilette and eaux de parfum, solid perfumes, home and car diffusers, hair mists, hand creams and body care products. Every line shares the same visual and olfactory vocabulary of the maison, with the emblematic oval as the seal of identity present across all its products.

Diptyque candles have their origins in 1963, when the founders transformed an everyday object into a decorative and sensory piece with its own distinct identity. Each fragrance is born from the same creative process that guides the house's perfumes, with illustrations and olfactory compositions developed in parallel, and raw materials selected with the same rigour applied to any eau de toilette. The result is candles with an aromatic depth and artistic coherence that set them apart within the luxury landscape.
