In the midst of the red carpet season, the Grammys, the Golden Globes, the Goyas (and soon, the Oscars) become window displays for the trends and brands of the world. While the dress code for these events is relatively predictable, micro-trends in celebrity styles can still be detected.
Sparkles, spring colours, and a new sophistication sprinkle events where good taste is, if not the first, the greatest prize.
Gilded Glamour
Directed by and starring: Gucci. This metallic trend is perfectly represented by Julia Garner's appearance in a silver Gucci dress. More guests of the night, like Taylor Swift, Quinta Brunson, or Emma Stone, embraced the shiny looks of haute couture.
One of the most original proposals was from Dame Meryl Streep, who arrived in a custom-made Valentino skirt suit made in micro-paillete. The look, adorned with the brand's signature bow (another trend to highlight), seemed like an ode to none other than Miranda Priestly, a character inexorably linked to Streep's career. Especially for those of us who work in fashion.
You can find the metallic trend in Alexander Wang scrunchie bags, Miu Miu and Isabel Marant jewellery, Self-Portrait dresses, or a fabulous Bottega Veneta bag.
Cherry Red
Valentino Garavani knew what he was doing.
This time, it's said to have been Versace. Others bring up Jacquemus, for his Le Chouchou collection shown in Versailles for kickstarting the trend. Wherever it comes from, it's undeniable that the trend of cherry and passion tones has completely taken over the networks and the catwalks.
Recent indications speak of a considerable shift from olive green (highly present in the new Burberry and Saint Laurent collections), a new rising colour. But that didn't stop Julianne Moore, Ayo Edebiri, Margot Robbie, Suki Waterhouse, Selena Gomez, Heidi Klum, and Rachel Brosnahan from enjoying this trend before its dilution.
Clad in Valentino, Bottega Veneta, and Prada, the stars dazzled on the red carpets with one of the most attractive colours according to psychology.

Transparencies
We can't deny that since 2016, the trend of lace dresses with transparencies has not stopped growing. What was a hallmark of Francesco Scognamiglio, inherited from the Italian fashion tradition, now sees a new era of splendour on the red carpets.
Miley Cyrus in Maison Margiela breaking the internet and winning her first Grammy, the little mermaid Halle Bailey in Gucci... While 2023 was its greatest moment, the sheer trend is experiencing a new spring.

Spring (finally) sprung
The groundhog wasn’t so wrong after all.
Science says that nature is already fully on its way to spring. Without looking at biological indicators, in the industry, we could guess it by the rise of flowers on the red carpets. In the latest couture collections for the house, Valentino has been uniting the sheer and flower trends with dresses composed by 3D-printed translucent flowers. Prada and Magda Burtym’s collections have also shared flowers as their centre-piece, with one pair of Prada shoes becoming the most sought after item of 2023.
