NEW SUMMER LOOKS FOR WOMEN

Imagine a walk through a major fashion capital. Through Milan, Paris, New York, Nice, Copenhagen, Sicily… Every soul, every corner, every space. All of them have their aesthetic, their own criteria, and their very own creative vision.

Summer invites movement. A change of scenery, routine, rhythm and wardrobe. Travelling is not the destination, but the path. The corners, the places, the details. Just like dressing. And for every destination, real or imagined, there is a look that suggests, defines, and transforms our perception of the world.

In this blog, we explore four visual fashion codes for the holidays. Four ways of dressing that reflect the individuality of each person. And just like every look, each one tells a story.

NEW SUMMER LOOKS FOR WOMEN

Modern Preppy

No one does preppy quite like Miuccia Prada. Between prep school and nautical flair, Prada and Miu Miu shows always carry a fresh and youthful touch. One that doesn’t take life too seriously, and sees exploration as the end (not the means).

To emulate this look, there are several essentials (from head to toe). Women’s caps, polo shirts or button-ups, shorts and loafers. These are the key pieces of the preppy look, with Miuccia’s innovative and fresh twist. These looks are ideal for more informal evening outings, giving a more transgressive and masculine edge to our summer nights. They’re also perfect for sightseeing and summer workwear. Their formality brings elegance and sophistication, derived from the quality of each piece. It’s the details and the fit that ultimately define the look’s character. After all, a fitted polo or an oversized polo yield two entirely different finishes.

One must also remember that behind her shows are complex commentaries on society, the present, and the future. She looks never in the past, as Miuccia keeps her gaze firmly on the horizons of fashion. Her proposals set the future of the industry seasons in advance, resulting in a disruption that shapes fashion’s direction.

Boho Seventies Spirit

What Chemena Kamali has achieved anything at Chloé, besides exciting collections and campaigns, it’s the return of the nostalgic spirit that Gaby Aghion (its founder) originally sought. Since her debut in February 2024, a series of collections and collaborations have followed that defend the soul of Chloé: free, bohemian and deeply feminine.

Gaby Aghion wanted to create comfortable clothing for women, focused on giving them freedom of movement and comfort, with the same standards and rigour as the haute couture of her time. Nearly five decades later, the house is a reference in luxurious, bohemian, and very feminine garments. The new creative director, Kamali, returned the seventies soul not only to Chloé but to the entire industry. The key: relaxed silhouettes, airy fabrics, ruffles, frills, and powdery palettes as the common thread. A certain hippie but luxurious air, with golden details, handbags with large hardware and a touch of Y2K that the whole fashion world currently adores.

But Kamali is not alone. With a creative line much more defined by colour and print, Isabel Marant
has been championing a hippie aesthetic since 1995. Her collections are daring, youthful and vibrant. The Isabel Marant woman is free, and her style has loyal followers in all the major fashion capitals. Her show remains one of the most coveted of all Paris Fashion Week.

Summer in Paris

When it comes to fashion, Paris is always a good idea. As the global fashion capital, while other fashion weeks have wavered, Paris has remained an unshakable reference point.

Parisian style is almost indescribable, but also unmistakable. It encompasses and respects everything, but it’s also a very specific and recognisable concept. Breton stripes, blazers, dresses, fine-strap sandals… Paris merges the best of urban and classic style with a naturally emerging avant-garde touch. It is the result of a personal journey, one that has undergone phases of transformation to reach its most authentic and simple self.

Very high-quality pieces, that last, that repeat, that are crafted with care… This is where brands like Lemaire come in. Lemaire’s clothing answers to a modular wardrobe that evolves and grows with its wearer. It’s not about discarding clothes every new season or compartmentalising them for each occasion. It’s about collecting hybrid and transformable pieces. A concept similar to Sacai, a brand we’ll talk about very soon.

Lemaire embodies the pure Parisian urban and fresh spirit. It’s innovative, avant-garde, and cares as much about aesthetics as about multifunctionality. Transformable garments with snap buttons, zippers and thoughtful details make each piece multipurpose.

Meanwhile, Saint Laurent clothing
reflects the city’s underground movement. By day, formal and elegant. By night, liberated and mysterious. One could say that Yves Saint Laurent’s clothing has a musical character, accompanied by jazz symphonies and the rock’n’roll of a past filled with Parisian nights. Its handbags, moreover, are among the most coveted pieces of the season.

The Artistic Soul

The key: textures, volumes, colours. For brands like The Row and Loewe, in their spring/summer 2025 proposals, fabric volumes and textures take centre stage.

At The Row, texture precedes time. Like an anachronistic effect, the wear and delicacy of the garments underline the innovative nature of their silhouettes. In its traditional oversized proposal, the season develops in a palette of taupe, earth tones and calm hues. Their role in our wardrobe is to make life easier, combining across seasons and highlighting the transtemporal character of the clothes.

Meanwhile, Loewe celebrates its penultimate collection with Jonathan Anderson with a neutral and relaxed proposal, reconstructing essential wardrobe staples with interesting signatures and cuts. Tank tops, voluminous trousers and oversized silhouettes are the key to this look, ideal for gallery visits, city strolls and refreshing our wardrobe with classic yet special pieces.
